BIFF Response® for Lawyers: Using Respectful and Civil Communication

Course Description

Lawyers are expected to communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, each other, and the general public. Yet in response to hostile and misinformed letters, emails and texts, lawyers are tempted to do the opposite. In addition, many legal clients communicate with anger at the opposing party and at their lawyers.

This course explains the BIFF Response® method of communicating respectfully in a manner that is Brief, Informative, Friendly and Firm. Several examples are provided of disrespectful and then respectful responses. In addition, Coaching for the BIFF Response method is explained.
