New Ways for Families® is an innovative method of teaching parents simple skills to
- manage conflicts,
- negotiate decisions,
- promote respectful communication,
- encourage themselves in times of stress and;
- co-parent more effectively.
This new method has been designed to be simple and repetitive, so that almost all parents can learn these skills and apply them in their lives when dealing with each other, with their children and with anyone.
Families change after separation and divorce. You tell your children that you still love them. But your lives with them are not the same anymore. How can you say good-bye to the past?
The Pre-Mediation Coaching Workbook has been adapted for online learning, and can be taken with a mediator or coach. They can assist you and prepare you.
You will learn how to make better decisions in your Mediation session, decisions that will help you to co-parent more effectively and reduce the conflict between you and your former partner.
The four big skills that help anyone when making a decision with another person are:
Managed emotions
This helps you focus on solutions rather than just reacting
Flexible thinking
This helps you come up with new ideas for future situations
Moderate behavior
This helps the other person to be less defensive and more respectful
Checking yourself
This helps you remember to use these skills even under stress
