High-Conflict interactions require practice
Setting limits in high-conflict situations can be the most difficult skill because we don't want to hurt the other person's feelings, or we're intimidated, or walking on eggshells. Setting limits with someone exhibiting high-conflict behaviors requires special skills, which are often the opposite of what you’re used to doing with everyone and what you feel like doing (getting emotionally hooked is common).
You can learn about the skills through training, but until you practice them, it’s unlikely you’ll remember to use them or know how to use them in a high-conflict situation, especially when you are emotionally hooked.
In the Live Lab you will increase your ability to create structure and set limits peacefully, which will also increase your confidence and decrease your stress.
